Automation VS Humans
Automation is making a big hit in America, and not a positive one. 72% of adults in the United States are waiting for their jobs to be taken, and not from other people. It is predicted that over 5 million citizens will lose their job to artificial intelligence (robots) by 2030, according to Kevin Dickson .
Although these new technological advancements frightens most adults, did this stop us in the past?
Andrew Arnold, a millennial, believes that robots will in fact not take over our jobs. When the industrial revolution created new advancements other jobs were created.
One study from the Gartner Research shows that 1.8 million jobs will be lost by 2020, but 2.3 million new ones will be created, Andrew explains.
Chloe Taylor, a reporter for CNBC, expresses that even if robots were boosted to 30% more than the baseline by 2030, than there would be a 5.3% boost in global GDP. Thus adding an extra $4.9 trillion per year to the global economy in 2030.
Although the United States is afraid of losing their jobs, China should be worried the most. According to the Oxford Economics new study, It is predicted that by 2030, more than 1.5 million jobs would have been lost to robots in the United States. In China, the amount of jobs lost will exceed 11 million.
After reviewing all of my research, I personally believe that robots won't take over our jobs. Yes, they will take a lot of jobs, but as humans we need interaction with one another. As a society we know that we need jobs either for our mental and physical health. Without the human interaction humans we will lose touch with the outside world.
Also for our economy to work we need some source of income to bring in revenue to the state and business. Whats the point of making goods when people have no way (source of income) to pay for it?
Proving my understanding that robots can not take over all of over jobs, some, but not all.

I like how you kept your article very organized and found outside research about losing jobs to technology. It kept me interested and wanting to know more.
ReplyDeleteI always hear about this concern and about the possibility of robots replacing the human workforce. I fear that there are certain jobs that robots shouldn't do, this was a great blog and it was easy to follow along.
ReplyDeleteAudrey, what kind of jobs are expected to be created in the future to replace those jobs lost by automation? Can we even predict what these jobs will be with the rate of advancement?
ReplyDeleteJobs that will be created include manufacturing of robots and people who will clean/ fix robots when needed. These jobs should be created as robots advance. The rate of advancement can predict what jobs will be predicted.
DeleteWhat jobs should be created? What if robots take over! what is your take on this
